Turn Norway's terrain into 3D models
Trusted by hikers, architects, and 3D printing enthusiasts across Norway
Workflow
Three steps to a physical model
Select area
Draw a rectangle on the interactive map to define the terrain you want to capture.
Generate mesh
Elevation data is fetched from Kartverket and converted into a watertight 3D mesh in seconds.
Export & print
Download your model as STL, 3MF, OBJ, or CSV. Ready for slicing and 3D printing.
Features
Everything you need, nothing you don't
High-resolution elevation data
Source data from Kartverket's national height model (DTM), with coverage of all of Norway at up to 1m resolution.
Real-time 3D preview
Inspect your terrain model from every angle in the built-in Three.js viewer before exporting.
Multiple export formats
STL and 3MF for 3D printing. OBJ for rendering. CSV point clouds for GIS and architecture workflows.
Watertight meshes
Generated models include walls and a base plate — ready for slicing without additional repair.
Configurable parameters
Control resolution, vertical exaggeration, base height, and model dimensions to match your printer.
Polygon masking
Load GeoJSON boundaries to mask the terrain to municipal borders, national parks, or custom shapes.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What file formats can I export?
You can export as STL, 3MF, OBJ, and CSV point clouds. STL and 3MF are ready for 3D printing without further processing.
What is the resolution of the elevation data?
Kartverket's national height model (DTM) covers all of Norway at up to 1 meter resolution. You can choose between 1m, 2m, 5m, and 10m.
Do I need an account?
No, you can generate and download models without an account. Create one to save your models and view history.
Can I use the models for architecture projects?
Absolutely. Export as OBJ for rendering in Blender, SketchUp, or similar. CSV point clouds work well in GIS software.
What does 'watertight' mesh mean?
The models include side walls and a base plate, making them fully enclosed and ready for slicing without repair.
Ready to build your terrain model?
No account needed. Select an area, generate your mesh, and download — all in the browser.
